Welcome to Hill House Bed and Breakfast. It’s one mile from the center of Asheville's vibrant downtown scene, and central to the mountain hikes, waterfalls, river rapids, and scenic drives of western North Carolina. The Biltmore Estate, Asheville’s major tourism draw, is 3 miles away. Autumn Leaves, Winter Snow, Spring Mountain Blossoms, and Temperate Summers, keep guests coming year-round. Lush seasonal gardens grace the inn. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, and the inn is set back far from the street, enclosed by thick hemlocks. Cafes & grocery stores dot the paths to downtown.
Ten fully private guestrooms are outfitted with modern amenities and luxurious bathrooms. The original Victorian/Queen Anne home, with eight of the guestrooms, features a large wraparound front porch for summer breakfast dining and year-round relaxation. A detached townhouse has been converted into two guestrooms -- a loft suite and an apartment -- but could immediately be restored to a residence. The original carriage house, years ago converted into a one-bedroom cottage, is currently the on-site manager’s residence, but could likewise easily be restored to its previous use, as a guest suite.
James Hill built this elegant 1885 home in boom times, and the inn, now 25 years old, booms today. Five of the last nine months had their highest occupancies ever, and reservations are pouring in for the weeks ahead. The property can provide a strong income with live-in owners/innkeepers. There is no deferred maintenance. (Because of COVID, all guest rooms have been furnished with table seating and hand-made cabinets that hold microwaves and minifridges. Full gourmet breakfasts, for guests who want them, are served on the porch, socially distanced.) BY APPOINTMENT WITH LISTING AGENT ONLY
The owner has been operating the inn for 10 years. Ready to pass along to new innkeepers!
