Property Overview

Meticulously maintained historic inn with 15 unique rooms, each with a private bath. Located in the tourist area of the Amana Colonies in southeast Iowa, just minutes from I80 and Iowa City (home to the Univ. of Iowa and Univ. hospitals and clinics) and Cedar Rapids.
Die Heimat Country Inn is a perfect blend of historic authenticity and charm and modern and comfortable amenities. Die Heimat building is a simple wooden structure that has recently had many updates both inside and outside.
It is located in the Amana Colonies, a popular tourist area in the rolling hills of the Iowa River valley of southeast Iowa. The inn has provided us with a comfortable lifestyle. We are busy spring, summer and fall and then travel or pursue our hobbies in the quieter winter months. The inn performs well financially and will be sold as a turnkey operation with strong future bookings in the system and a loyal following of repeat guests.
There is an innkeepers apartment in the lower level, as well as a working shop. Innkeepers each have a private office on the first and second floor. We love it here, but it's time to retire and hand off to the next owners
Peaceful and quiet is how guests describe the rural atmosphere of the Amana Colonies. Guests come from all over the country, but mostly the Midwest seeking rejuvenation, time to explore the Amana Colonies, and a place to meet friends and family. We often host groups since we have 15 guest rooms.
Come take a look! We'd be happy to talk to you about making your dream of owning an inn come true.
