From the Innkeeper: The property as it has been described to me, by people in the community as well as guests, as one of the more beautiful and unique properties in Waynesville for a number of reasons. First you pull onto the property and travel through a beautiful arbor as you meander up the hill to the entrance of the inn. As you go over the bridge you pass a waterfall from the pond to the two streams on the property. Immediately, the stone and gardens and plants and fully forested grounds grab you. Two houses in the mountains at 3300 feet in the Smoky Mtns. Both houses have decks and/or patios and are inviting. The stone lined gardens get your attention as the smell of the many roses and perennial plants will fill your senses. Next you walk out to the spacious main house deck and look down to a pond that graces the lower part of the property. Along with the beautiful setting there are fruit and Christmas trees that have been planted on the property.
Experience the serenity of the Red Leaf River Inn! This property has been functioning as a Bed & Breakfast, and has been lovingly revitalized by the owner. Wonderful opportunity to purchase a turnkey business, that is popular for weddings and private events! The main house has an inviting reception area, chef's kitchen and window-lined dining room overlooking the pond. It has 4 guest rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, plus separate "owners quarters" with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and living area. Huge wraparound deck with wet bar, perfect for entertaining! The carriage house has been renovated into a 1 br/1 ba cozy cottage, with private garden and workshop below. The nearly 5 acre property has a multitude of areas to relax and enjoy the roses and other perennial plants. Meander down the path to the pond to see the waterfall and fruit trees. Convenient location just 8 min from downtown Waynesville, 30 min to Cataloochee Ski Area, 40 min to Asheville. No drive-by's please. By Appt only.
From the innkeeper: The property has been lovingly restored and updated from inside to outside. If you run the Inn as we have, you have everything needed to operate and maintain a turnkey business. This includes furniture, decor, swag, appliances, linens, bath items, pottery, electronics, and much more. I am happy to transfer the name and website and other business related materials as well. I would also be happy to work with the new owners to help with the transition and maintaining the operation until their comfort level is achieved and getting them introduced to our many returning guests, encouraging them to stay with the inn knowing that their experience will mirror past experiences.
The last three years I have been running the inn entirely by myself, limiting my ability to do some of the other things we have established while operating the Inn. Over the years, we have done weddings, catering and food drop-offs, and more. The Inn has hosted a dozen weddings, and has refused 5 weddings this year alone. These things alone could easily increase business 30-50%. It is a matter of having people to help. The Inn has been resurrected from the ashes and is one of the top destinations and highest rated B & B's in Western NC. The business is established and running properly and will hopefully forever remain alive.
From the innkeeper: First of all, this is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. Inevitably I have spent my entire working life of 49 years in the hospitality and food industry working 60 to 100 hours a week the whole time. No vacations, missing time with my kids and grandkids. It is time!
