Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast is federal-style brick farmhouse, built between 1800 & 1810. In the past two centuries, this property served as a family farm, a dairy farm, and horse breeding facility and is said to have sheltered runaway slaves as a stop on the Underground Railroad and has the remains of this still located on the property today.
The main house is more than 200 years old, as is the Stone Barn and wagon shed. There are a total of 8 guest rooms with a 1-bedroom suite on the third floor for the owners ‘quarters. Many rooms have features that are part of the historical nature of the property, such as the original pine floors, exposed beams and glass windows. The Cottage, as well as the Pet-Sylvania and Country Comfort Rooms offer pet friendly accommodations that are popular feature. These rooms have been updated to a clean, modern décor that fit the property. There is a bright dining room where guests sit at individual tables for breakfast and a cozy den as additional gathering space The open kitchen sits between these two rooms and serves as the check in location. There is also a private office located on the upper level at the back of the house
The B&B sits on 8.21 acres that includes the main house, a Cottage, a working stone barn with 3 horse stalls and 2 paddocks, chicken coop, blacktopped area for events (which used to be a tennis court), and fenced pasture area for horses. The B&B also owns 2.32 acres of land directly across the street that serves as part of the event and parking areas. This property sits on the pond and is quite attractive adding to the general ambience of the property.
